Northumberland

We've been on holiday to Northumberland, staying in Bamburgh near the beach and the castle. Our flat was about 5 minutes walk from the beach. It had a long hall which I enjoyed crawling up and down and I had my own bedroom.

The only problem was that there was no bath, so I ended up having a wash in my toy box every night!

Saturday
On the drive up we stopped in Durham to see Emily and have lunch. I now have to have my own kids meal otherwise Mummy & Daddy lose to much of their meal! We had a walk by the river and then went in the cathedral. Roxie was spolit by Emily's housemate who took for a long walk along the river and through the woods.
Sunday
We took Roxie for a walk on the beach in the morning. I enjoyed being in my carrier on Daddy's back as I could see what was going on.

Later on we drove to Craster to meet Ed. We went to a nice pub for lunch, although Roxie dug up one of their tubs whilst she was tied up outside! After lunch we had a walk although it was rather misty so we couldn't see very much.

Monday

We drove up the coast to Berwick today. I fell asleep in the car just before we arrived so Mummy & daddy had to sit in the car until I woke up. We had a walk round the town and just managed to get to a cafe in time for lunch before it started to rain.

Tuesday
I was 1 on the Tuesday! Mummy & Daddy left most of my presents in Sheffield for when we got home (because they were too big to fit in the car!). I enjoyed playing with my Hoobs before we went to a farm.

As we walked round the farm Mummy and Daddy fed the animals whilst I watched. The goats were very greedy!

I got some practice in driving the tractor!

After lunch we all went to a soft play center and I enjoyed going down the big slide with Daddy.

Wednesday

We visited Anwick on Wednesday. I fell asleep in the car again, although Daddy had come prepared with the newspaper this time. We had lunch in a pub - I ate 3 fish fingers and chips, although wasn't very impressed with the peas. Daddy put me in the carrier to walk round the castle and I enjoyed looking at all the displays.

Thursday
The weather was sunny on Thursday morning so we decided to go on a boat trip round the Farne Islands. Unfortunately, it started to rain justas we got on the boat. Luckily it stopped raining so we were able to see all the birds and the seals. I enjoyed the ride back to the harbour as it was a bit bumpy although Mummy felt a bit sick! We went out for tea in Bamburgh after going back to the flat to dry out.

Friday

I got to play on the beach this morning. I didn't have a bucket and spade but made do with my cups and a wooden spoon!

As the weather was nice we drove to Holy Island over the causeway. We walked round the vilage before lunch and then walked out to Lindisfarne Castle. I was able to impress everyone by walking round the castle(with a bit of help from Daddy). On the way back from the castle Mummy & Daddy got very wet as it rained heavily. I was nice and dry in the baby carrier and even went to sleep! Mummy & Daddy found a cafe to have a cup of tea whilst they dried off and waited for it to stop raining and for the tide to go out so we could drive back to the mainland.

Saturday
After Daddy had packed the car and a final walk on the beach we drove to Leeds to see Great Granny & Grandpa and Great Uncle Trevor & Auntie Jane. Emily was also home and played with some of my birthday presents with me.
